Deanna'S Apple Crisp

  1. Wash, peel, core and slice apples.
  2. Sprinkle lightly with hot water and a few drops lemon juice.
  3. Also a few tablespoons of sugar, salt and cinnamon.
  4. Arrange apple mixture in bottom of large greased baking pan.
  5. In mixing bowl, add melted butter; keep adding remaining sugar and flour to form crumbly mixture, working with a fork.
  6. Sprinkle butter-flour mixture evenly over sliced apples.
  7. A few chopped walnuts, pecans or wheat germ give an added crunch to topping.
  8. Bake in preheated 375u0b0 oven for 35 minutes or until apples are tender and crumb topping is golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with whipped cream or softened vanilla ice cream.
