Italian Sausage Bread(Stromboli)
- 3 frozen loaves bread (let rise 2 to 3 hours)
- 1 lb. Mozzarella, grated
- 1 lb. mild Cheddar, grated
- 1 medium can Parmesan cheese
- 1 (10 oz.) jar salad olives, chopped
- 1 medium can black olives, chopped
- 1 lb. loose sausage (hot or mild), browned and drained
- 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced thin and cooked in water to get rid of some grease
- 2 bunches green onions, chopped
- 1 large can sliced mushrooms
- After bread has risen, roll out each loaf separately.
- Roll out to a 15 x 12-inch rectangle.
- Spread butter down the center third.
- On each bread rectangle, layer down the middle third the filling ingredients, the loose sausage, sliced sausage, mixture of 3 cheeses, mixture of both olives, green onions and mushrooms. Pull far side over filling and tuck under ingredients.
- Fold ends up and smooth, then pull other side over and tuck.
- Butter top of loaf.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 40 minutes until top is light brown. Can be frozen and reheated at 350u0b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Makes 3 loaves.
