Smothered Steak And Onions
- 4 (4 oz.) lean, cubed sirloin steaks
- 1/2 tsp. salt-free lemon-herb seasoning
- vegetable cooking spray
- 1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
- 1 tsp. beef flavored bouillon granules
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 c. cooked long grain rice, cooked without salt or fat
- fresh parsley sprigs (optional)
- Sprinkle steak with lemon-herb seasoning.
- Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium heat until hot.
- Add steak and cook 2 minutes on each side to sear.
- Arrange onion rings over steak.
- Combine bouillon granules and hot water, stirring well; add to skillet.
- Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 12 to 15 minutes or until onion is tender.
- Remove steak and onion from skillet; keep warm.
