Sweet Sour Broccoli And Cauliflower
- 3/4 lb. fresh broccoli or 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen broccoli spears
- 3/4 lb. fresh cauliflower (1 small head) or 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen cauliflower
- 4 slices bacon, diced
- 2 green onions, minced
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- Cook broccoli and cauliflower separately.
- Follow package directions if using frozen vegetables.
- Or, cook fresh vegetables until tender-crisp.
- Drain.
- Turn into warm serving dish.
- While vegetables cook, put bacon into frying pan and cook until crisp. Remove bacon and reserve.
- Pour out all but 3 tablespoons of the bacon drippings.
- Add onions.
- Saute for 2 minutes, then stir in brown sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper.
- Heat.
- Pour sauce over cauliflower and broccoli in serving dish.
- Top with crisp bacon. Serve immediately.
- Makes 4 servings.
