Herb Dumpling Chicken Pie
- 1 (4 1/2 to 6 lb.) chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 whole carrot
- 3/4 lb. small white onions
- 1 whole black peppercorn
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 whole clove
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. diagonally sliced, pared carrots
- all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
- 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 2 tsp. poppy seed
- 1 tsp. instant minced onion
- 2 c. Bisquick
- 1 c. milk
- Place chicken in large Dutch oven with 1 whole carrot, 1 onion, celery stalk and seasonings.
- Cover with hot water.
- Simmer 1 1/2 hours or until fork-tender.
