Homemade Bread

  1. Combine
  2. oats,toiling
  3. water,
  4. oleo and milk in large bowl. Let
  5. standt0
  6. minutes for quick oats, nearly one hour for regular.
  7. Dissolveteast in warm water.
  8. Add to oats when cool. Add
  9. othertngredients
  10. except
  11. flour.
  12. Stir in 4 cups flour and beat
  13. 75
  14. strokes.tdd
  15. more
  16. flour until workable dough is obtained.
  17. Grease
  18. hand and bowl with lard and knead until springy and
  19. smooth.
  20. Lettet
  21. in bowl until double in bulk.
  22. Punch down.
  23. Let rise again.
  24. Punch down again.
  25. Put in well greased pans.
  26. Lettise
  27. again.
  28. Bake

  30. for 50 minutes or
  31. until done.
  32. Makes 5 or 6 loaves.
  33. You could make 1/2 recipe if you don't want so much.
  34. But with a large family this doesn't last long.
