Homemade Bread
- 2 c. oats (quick or regular)
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 1 stick oleo
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sorghum molasses
- 1/4 c. honey
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. yeast
- 4 c. fine whole wheat flour
- 10 c. hy-gluten flour
- Combine
- oats,toiling
- water,
- oleo and milk in large bowl. Let
- standt0
- minutes for quick oats, nearly one hour for regular.
- Dissolveteast in warm water.
- Add to oats when cool. Add

- except
- flour.
- Stir in 4 cups flour and beat

- flour until workable dough is obtained.
- Grease
- hand and bowl with lard and knead until springy and
- smooth.
- Lettet
- in bowl until double in bulk.
- Punch down.
- Let rise again.
- Punch down again.
- Put in well greased pans.
- Lettise
- again.
- Bake

- for 50 minutes or
- until done.
- Makes 5 or 6 loaves.
- You could make 1/2 recipe if you don't want so much.
- But with a large family this doesn't last long.
