Mocha Brownies
- 1 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 3 sq. (3 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 2 Tbsp. instant coffee powder
- 1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- sifted confectioners sugar
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in vanilla.
- Add beaten eggs in thirds, beating well after each addition.
- Blend chocolate and instant coffee powder together. Add to creamed mixture.
- Add sifted dry ingredients in thirds, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Turn batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes. Cool.
- Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
- Cut into squares.
