Lasagne
- 1/3 c. olive oil
- 1 lb. ground chuck or round
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 c. Italian tomatoes
- 1 c. tomato paste
- salt to taste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 10 oz. lasagne noodles
- 2 c. Ricotta or cottage cheese
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- Brown meat in oil.
- Add the next 10 ingredients to the meat; simmer, uncovered, until thick.
- Discard bay leaf.
- Cook the lasagne noodles in rapidly boiling salted water for about 15 minutes, until tender but not soft.
- Drain.
- Combine the next 7 ingredients.
- Place all in the buttered casserole in the following order:
- cottage cheese, Mozzarella cheese, noodles,
- meat sauce and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 375u0b0, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
