Chocolate Chip Pie

  1. Scald milk.
  2. Beat 2 egg yolks.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons scalded milk to yolks.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add yolk to rest of scalded mix.
  6. Cook until it coats a metal spoon.
  7. Dissolve gelatine in cold water.
  8. Add gelatine to milk.
  9. Add 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt and vanilla to milk.
  10. Stir until well mixed.
  11. Remove from heat.
  12. Cool to room temperature.
  13. Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually adding 3 tablespoons sugar.
  14. Fold egg whites to cooled yolk mixture.
  15. Pour in crust.
  16. Sprinkle with chopped chips.
  17. Refrigerate.
  18. When served, top with whipped cream.
