Slumgullian(Meal In A Dish - Texas Style)
- 6 oz. pkg. elbow macaroni
- 1 lb. hamburg
- 1 medium or large onion, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes (pieces will do)
- 1 (8 1/2 oz.) can peas, drained
- 1 tsp. salt or more to taste
- 1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder to taste
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 lb. pkg. Velveeta cheese
- sliced black olives to garnish
- Cook macaroni; do not overcook.
- Heat oil in skillet.
- Saute onion and green pepper until limp; do not brown.
- Remove from skillet (use small bowl).
- Place hamburg in skillet and simmer just until meat turns color.
- Break up chunks and turn frequently. Add sauteed vegetables, tomatoes, salt and chili powder.
- Simmer to blend all ingredients.
