Scalloped Oysters

  1. Butter 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Cover the bottom with 1/3 of plain saltines.
  3. Add a layer of half the oysters, and season with salt, pepper and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg.
  4. Add 1/4 cup oyster liquor and 1/3 cup cream.
  5. Add another 1/3 of the cracker crumbs and dot with butter.
  6. Add the remaining oysters, the seasonings and finally the remaining plain cracker crumbs.
  7. Top with the buttered crushed saltines, the remaining 1/4 cup oyster liquor and 1/3 cup heavy cream.
  8. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  9. Dash Tabasco over all.
  10. Bake in a 375u0b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown on top.
