Apple Strudel
- 2 tubes crescent rolls
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 medium apples
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 egg, separated
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- Pat dough onto baking stone, making 2 rectangles (1 tube per rectangle).
- Pinch seams together.
- Sprinkle flour over dough. Peel, core and slice apples.
- Chop into small pieces.
- Combine sugar and cinnamon; remove 2 tablespoons for later.
- Add sugar mixture, nuts, egg yolk and apples.
- Spread filling down the middle of the dough.
- Cut pats of butter and lay on top of the filling.
- Make diagonal cuts on dough on each side.
- Pull over to crisscross on top.
- Brush with egg whites, then sprinkle remaining sugar and cinnamon on top.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
