Braised Turkey Breast
- 1 (5 to 5 1/2 lb.) turkey breast
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground sage
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. white pepper
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 small clove garlic, crushed
- 1/2 c. apple juice
- Rub turkey breast with oil.
- Sprinkle with salt, sage, paprika and pepper.
- Place onion and garlic in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Place turkey breast on top.
- Bake at 450u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Pour apple juice over turkey. Cover with foil
- Insert meat thermometer through foil into thickest part of breast, making an opening so thermometer does not touch foil.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 2 hours or until thermometer registers 185u0b0.
- Transfer turkey to serving platter.
- Serve with pan drippings.
- Yields 14 to 16 servings.
