Macaroni And Cheese
- 2 c. elbow noodles
- 1 small onion, cut
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/8 tsp. ground white pepper
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 lb. pasteurized spread
- 3/4 c. bread crumbs
- Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0; melt two tablespoons margarine over low heat; add onion and cook until tender.
- Stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper.
- Slowly stir in milk, stirring until thick and smooth.
- Add 3/4 of the cheese and then stir into milk mixture until cheese is melted.
- Transfer cooked macaroni to lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
- Pour cheese over macaroni and toss to coat.
- Top with reserved cheese.
- This recipe will serve 4 people.
