Grandma'S Anise Twist Cookies

  1. Mix dry ingredients (not sugar) separately. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add 1/3 of the dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Add orange and anise extracts (more anise than orange!!). Continue to add remaining dry ingredients and orange juice, alternating while mixing. Refrigerate in foil or plastic 1 hour, up to 24 hours. Separate dough (size of a walnut). Roll in hands and twist. Grease baking sheet and place cookies on sheet. Bake at 350u0b0 approximately 12 minutes (check and turn at 6 minutes). If the bottom is brown, they are done! Cool completely before glazing.
