Microwave Caramel Corn

  1. Place popped corn in large grocery sack (regular weight paper, not too thin).
  2. In a microwave bowl, mix together butter, sugar, syrup and salt.
  3. Cook in microwave on High for 4 minutes, stirring twice.
  4. Next add vanilla and baking soda.
  5. Stir until foamy.
  6. Pour mixture over the popped corn in the sack.
  7. Shake to mix.
  8. Cook in microwave 1 1/2 minutes and shake; cook in microwave 1 minute and shake; cook in microwave 1/2 minute and shake.
  9. Spread on wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  10. Spread evenly with a wooden spoon.
  11. Let cool and store in an airtight container.
  12. (Tin cans work well.)
