Pound Cake

  1. Cream shortening and butter; gradually add sugar.
  2. Beat at medium speed until well blended and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  5. Stir in the flavorings.
  6. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube or Bundt pan.
  7. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour, or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in pan for 10 minutes; remove from pan.
  9. Cool completely on a rack.
