Beans And Wieners Waikiki
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. green pepper, coarsely chopped
- 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple rings, drained (reserve syrup)
- 1 pkg. wieners, cut into chunks
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/3 c. catsup
- 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed firm
- 1 (31 oz.) can pork and beans
- 1 can chow mein noodles (optional)
- Cut pineapple into chunks, reserving 3 or 4 rings for garnish. Saute green pepper and onion in margarine.
- Simmer 5 minutes; add pineapple syrup, vinegar, soy sauce, catsup and brown sugar; heat until bubbly.
- Mix pork and beans, pineapple mixture, pineapple chunks and wieners.
- Stir gently to blend.
- Place halved rings on top of casserole.
- Bake in moderate (350u0b0) oven for 30 minutes. Serve with chow mein noodles.
- Serves 6 generously.
