Saucy Tuna Casserole
- 8 oz. broad or medium noodles
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 c. water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 (7 oz. each) cans tuna, drained and flaked
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz.)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Cook noodles according to package directions.
- In medium skillet, heat oil and cook onion and green pepper until tender. Stir in tomato sauce, water, salt, garlic powder and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
- In a 2-quart casserole, combine noodles, sauce and tuna. Bake, covered, 30 minutes or until heated through. Top with cheese.
- Let stand, covered, until cheese is melted.
- Makes about 6 servings.
