Date And Nut Bread

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar; add eggs, beating well.
  2. Combine flour, soda and salt and add alternately with milk.
  3. Stir in nuts and dates, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Spoon into 2 well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans or five 16-ounce cans.
  5. Bake loaves in a preheated 350u0b0 oven for
  6. 60 minutes and cans in a 325u0b0 oven for 60 to 70 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  7. Cool on rack for 10 minutes.
  8. Turn out of pans and continue cooling on rack.
  9. Makes 2 loaves.
