Beef Strips Oriental
- 1 lb. chuck, flank or round steak
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 pepper, sliced large
- 1 carrot, sliced large
- 1 1/4 c. chicken broth (1 cube in water)
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 cans chow mein vegetables
- 1 c. chow mein noodles
- 2 onions, sliced
- hot cooked rice
- 2 celery stalks, cut in large pieces
- Cut meat into 1/4-inch strips. Place in shallow dish.
- Combine ginger, garlic powder, pepper and sugar. Add soy sauce, lemon juice and 1 cup chicken broth; mix well. Pour over meat and marinate 2 to 3 hours.
