Crab Thermidor(Low Calorie)
- 4 slices bread
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
- 2/3 c. half and half
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- dash of paprika
- generous dash of pepper
- 2 Tbsp. water
- dash of garlic salt
- 2 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen king crab, thawed and thoroughly drained or 2 (6 1/2 to 7 1/2 oz.) cans king crab, drained
- 1/3 c. grated, mild processed Cheddar cheese
- About 30 minutes before serving, preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Toast bread in oven until golden brown.
- Turn; toast other side. Meanwhile in medium saucepan, melt margarine.
- Stir in flour, stirring constantly.
- Slowly add half and half.
- Cook, stirring until thickened and smooth.
- Stir in salt, nutmeg, paprika, pepper, garlic salt and sherry.
- Add crab.
- Heat, stirring, to simmering. Turn into 1-quart casserole dish; sprinkle with cheese.
- Put in broiler until cheese melts and is golden.
