Black Magic Cake
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. strong black coffee
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans or a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- Add eggs, coffee, buttermilk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium 2 minutes (batter will be thin).
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes for round pans; bake 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan.
- When toothpick comes out clean, cake is done.
- Cool 10 minutes.
- Remove from pans to wire rack; cool completely.
- Frost as desired.
