Western Beans
- 1/4 lb. bacon slices
- 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1/3 c. hot water
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 3/4 c. catsup
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 (15 oz.) can baked beans
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- Set electric skillet at 340u0b0.
- Cook and stir ground beef, onion, celery and green pepper until meat is brown and vegetables tender.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water.
- Stir bouillon and remaining ingredients into meat mixture. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
- Crumble bacon and sprinkle over beans.
- Makes 6 servings.
