Hearty Stuffed Shells
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. Italian breadcrumbs
- about 28 cooked, drained, jumbo shells
- salt and pepper to taste
- 32 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
- 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 medium, chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 3/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- In a large skillet, thoroughly brown beef, onion and garlic; drain fat.
- In a large bowl, combine meat, breadcrumbs, egg, 1 cup spaghetti sauce, Parmesan cheese and oregano.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Evenly spread 1 cup of sauce in baking dish.
- Fill each shell with 1 heaping tablespoon meat mixture.
- Arrange over sauce and top with remaining sauce. Bake, covered, 30 minutes.
- Uncover; sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese and bake 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
