Deep Dish Apple Dumplings
- 1 stick Parkay margarine
- approximately 3 pt. sliced apples (prefer sweet ones that don't cook up)
- 3/4 c. light brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. self-rising flour (heaping)
- 1 Tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
- 1 can Pillsbury flaky biscuits or homemade if you prefer
- Melt 3/4 stick of Parkay margarine in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Distribute to cover bottom and coat sides.
- Add apples, spreading evenly.
- Combine brown sugar, flour and spice.
- Sprinkle liberally over apples.
- Put in 375u0b0 oven and cook 45 minutes, stirring a couple of times.
- Okay if juicy.
- Carefully remove from oven and top with flaky biscuits pulled apart into halves.
- Top biscuits with 1/4 stick of margarine (a dab to each) and you may sprinkle top with brown sugar or spice very lightly.
