Real Texas Chili(No Heartburn)

  1. In a 4-quart pot, cook beef until it changes color, but does not brown.
  2. Lower heat.
  3. Stir in garlic.
  4. Combine chili powder, cumin and flour.
  5. Sprinkle over meat.
  6. Add 1 1/2 cans beef broth. Stir.
  7. Add salt and pepper.
  8. Bring to a boil.
  9. Reduce heat.
  10. Simmer about 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
  11. Add remaining broth and cook 15 minutes more.
  12. Add the refried beans and chili beans.
  13. If too thick, add a little water and cook 15 minutes more.
