Zesty Meatballs
- 3 lb. ground chuck
- 3 medium onions, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. milk
- vegetable oil
- 3/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- fresh chopped parsley
- Combine first 7 ingredients, mixing well.
- Shape into 1-inch balls.
- Cook meatballs in hot oil until lightly browned.
- Drain. Place meatballs in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Combine remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Pour sauce over meatballs.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley, if desired.
- Yields 6 dozen.
