Apple Slices

  1. Sift together flour, sugar and salt.
  2. Cut lard in with pastry blender.
  3. Put egg yolk in measuring cup and add milk to make 2/3 cup; add to lard mixture.
  4. Mix just enough so dough shapes into ball.
  5. Roll out 1/2 of dough to 15 x 11-inch rectangle.
  6. Transfer to baking sheet.
  7. Cover with corn flakes, then apple slices.
  8. Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
  9. Roll out other half of dough for top crust.
  10. Pinch edges together.
  11. Beat egg white until stiff.
  12. Put on top.
  13. Bake in a 400u0b0 oven for 40 minutes.
  14. While hot, dribble glaze over top.
