Snow Peas With Water Chestnuts

  1. In a 1 1/2-quart glass casserole, heat oil 15 seconds.
  2. Add water chestnuts and snow peas.
  3. In a 1-cup glass measure, heat water 2 minutes.
  4. Dissolve bouillon cube and add to vegetable mixture.
  5. Cook vegetables, covered, 4 to 6 minutes, stirring once halfway through cooking time.
  6. Combine cornstarch and cold water; mix well.
  7. Push vegetables to one side of casserole and stir cornstarch mixture into broth.
  8. Stir vegetables into sauce.
  9. Cook 2 to 4 minutes, stirring every minute, until sauce is slightly thickened.
  10. Salt to taste.
  11. Yields 4 servings.
