Turkey And Dressing
- 1 (12 to 14 lb.) turkey
- 5 bouillon cubes (chicken flavored)
- 3 to 4 qt. water
- 8 medium onions, finely chopped
- 8 eggs
- 2 qt. cornbread crumbs
- 10 to 12 slices light bread
- 2 tsp. sage or to taste
- 1/2 tsp. each: salt and pepper
- Cook turkey in water with bouillon cubes for 5 to 6 hours (or until done) at 350u0b0.
- Remove turkey.
- Set broth aside to cool. Carve turkey and arrange on platter.
- Cover.
- In large bowl, combine cornbread crumbs, light bread, onions, eggs and seasonings.
- Add broth and mix well.
- Work well with your hands, blending out bread lumps.
- Mixture should be very "soupy".
- Pour into turkey roaster and cook for approximately 1 hour.
- Stir once or twice during this time.
- Cook until lightly browned.
- Serve with turkey.
