Sweet And Sour Pork
- 1 1/2 lb. pork shoulder, cut into thin strips
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1 c. pineapple juice
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 3/4 c. thinly sliced green bell pepper
- 1/4 c. sliced onions
- 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained
- 2 Tbsp. Kitchen Bouquet
- Brown pork in oil in skillet.
- Reduce heat.
- Add water; simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
- Combine cornstarch, salt, brown sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice and soy sauce in bowl; mix well. Pour over pork.
- Let stand for 15 minutes.
- Add green pepper, onions and pineapple chunks.
- Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes longer. Stir in Kitchen Bouquet.
- Serve over rice or Chinese noodles. Serves 4.
