Eskimo Pie(A Special Dessert)

  1. In 1/4 cup water, soften gelatin; mix egg yolks with sugar, milk, salt and vanilla in top of a double boiler.
  2. Cook slowly until thick and mixture coats a spoon.
  3. Add softened gelatin and stir until well mixed.
  4. Cool.
  5. When partially thickened, fold in stiffly, beaten egg whites and then thick whipped cream.
  6. Sprinkle 1/2 grated chocolate over bottom of 11 x 6-inch pan.
  7. Cover with gelatin mixture.
  8. Top with rest of grated chocolate.
  9. Cover with waxed paper and refrigerate overnight.
