Porky Sandwiches
- 1 lb cooked pork, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (recipe follows)
- 4 large hamburger buns, buttered dill pickles for garnish
- 1 medium onion, sliced crosswise
- 1 garlic clove, pressed
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- 3/4 cup catsup
- 1/2 1/2 cup sherry wine or 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Stir sliced pork into hot barbecue sauce. Cook over low heat until pork is hot.
- Spoon pork in barbecue sauce into hamburger buns.
- Garnish with dill pickles and coleslaw.
- Serve immediately.
- Barbecue sauce:
- Saute onion and garlic in butter in heavy saucepan for 3 to 4 minute or until onion is soft, stirring constantly.
- Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.
- Simmer 5 minute.
- Makes 1 1/2 cups sauce.
