Country-Style Barbecued Ribs Or Oven Baked
- 4 lb. pork country-style ribs
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. celery seed or 1 large stalk, diced regular celery
- Cook ribs, covered, in enough boiling salted water to cover, 45 to 60 minutes or until tender. Drain. Cook onion, garlic and celery in hot oil until tender. Stir in tomato sauce, next 5 ingredients, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes.
- Stir once or twice.
- Grill ribs over slow coals about 45 minutes or until done. Turn every 15 minutes. Brush with sauce until coated. Serves 6.
