Sweet Chow-Chow

  1. Grind tomatoes, cabbage, onions, green peppers and red peppers into large pan.
  2. Add salt and let stand overnight.
  3. Rinse and drain.
  4. Put into large kettle.
  5. Add remaining ingredients, heat to boiling.
  6. Boil for 8 minutes,stirring constantly.
  7. Pour into hot sterilized jars; seal.
  8. Let stand at least 2 weeks before opening.
  9. For hot Chow-Chow, add 10 hot peppers and 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper.
