Chocolate Fudge Cake
- 2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 c. soft shortening
- 3 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 1/4 c. milk, divided (buttermilk or sour milk)
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs
- Preheat
- oven to
- 350u0b0.
- Grease,
- then
- line
- with
- wax paper, 2 (9-inch) layer pans.
- Sift into large Mixmaster Mixer bowl sifted flour, granulated sugar, salt and soda.
- Add brown sugar, shortening, chocolate,
- 3/4 cup milk and vanilla.
- Beat 30 seconds at No. 1 to moisten flour; then 2 minutes at No. 4. Add
- remaining milk and eggs.
- Beat 1 1/2 minutes longer; pour into pans.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes; cool.
