Danish Puff Pork Chops

  1. Brown chops on both sides in oil.
  2. Place in a shallow 2-quart baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Keep them warm. Meanwhile, in small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter or margarine; add flour.
  5. Cook and stir for 1 minute; add milk. Stirring, bring to a boil and boil until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Beat in egg until smooth.
  8. Stir in onion and cheese.
  9. Over low heat, cook and stir just until cheese melts.
  10. Spoon 1/4 of sauce over each pork chop, spreading to edges.
  11. Bake at 350u0b0, uncovered, for 35 to 45 minutes or just until chops are done and cheese is puffed and golden.
  12. Makes 4 chops.
