Oatmeal Spice Cookies
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. quick cooking oats
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, soda and spices; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Add flour mixture and mix well.
- Stir in oats and nuts. Drop dough by tablespoon, 3 inches apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Allow to cool slightly on cookie sheets before removing.
