Buttermilk Doughnuts

  1. Heat fat or oil (3 to 4-inches) to 375u0b0 in deep fat fryer or kettle.
  2. Measure 1 1/2 cups flour and remaining ingredients into large mixer bowl.
  3. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed.
  4. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed.
  5. Scrape bowl occasionally.
  6. Stir in remaining flour.
  7. Turn dough onto well floured cloth covered board; roll around lightly to coat with flour.
  8. Gently roll dough 3/8-inch thick.
  9. Cut with floured doughnut cutter.
  10. With wide spatula, slide doughnuts into hot fat.
  11. Turn doughnuts as they rise to surface.
  12. Fry 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Carefully remove from fat.
  14. Drain.
  15. Serve plain, sugared or glazed.
  16. Makes 2 dozen doughnuts.
