Dog Biscuits(For Sam!)
- 1 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. nonfat dry milk powder
- 1/2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/4 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. instant chicken bouillon granules
- 1/2 c. hot water
- Combine flours, milk powder, oats, cornmeal and sugar.
- Cut in shortening so the mixture is crumbly.
- Stir in egg.
- Stir bouillon in hot water until dissolved.
- Slowly add to flour mixture.
- Form a dough ball and knead 5 minutes.
- Divide dough in half and roll out 1/2-inch thick.
- Make cutouts or 5 dozen nuggets.
- Place on plate and microwave on Medium for 5 to 10 minutes, until firm and dry to touch.
- Rotate plate every 2 minutes and turn shapes over when halfway done.
- Cool and shapes will turn crisp as they cool.
- Makes 1 1/2 dozen cutouts.
