Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

  1. In large bowl, combine sugar, margarine, cream cheese, salt, almond extract, vanilla and egg yolk; blend well.
  2. Stir in flour until well blended.
  3. Refrigerate dough 2 hours for easier handling. Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
  4. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough 1/3 at a time to 1/8-inch thickness.
  5. Cut into desired shapes with lightly floured cookie cutters.
  6. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Leave cookies plain, or if desired, brush with slightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar.
  8. Bake at 375u0b0 for 7 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown.
  9. Cool for a minute or so, then carefully remove from cookie sheets.
  10. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
