Mema'S Favorite 6 Cheese Lasagna
- 1 can tomato paste
- 2 (8 oz.) cans plain tomato sauce
- 1 (28 oz.) can diced tomatoes
- 1 large pkg. lasagna
- 1 large onion, chopped or pureed
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 small pkg. sliced mushrooms or 1 large can mushrooms
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 pkg. Italian sausage (mild)
- 2 lb. Ricotta cheese
- 2 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 lb. Swiss cheese
- 1 lb. Parmesan cheese
- 2 lb. Cheddar/Monterey Jack mixed cheeses
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- basil
- oregano
- Cook lasagna noodles according to the directions. Set aside in a bowl of cold water. Tear wrapping off Italian sausage. Brown Italian sausage and ground beef together. Add onions, peppers and mushrooms and cook until tender. Reduce heat. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well. Sprinkle garlic powder until it covers top of sauce. Do the same with onion powder and oregano. Lightly sprinkle basil or to suit your taste. Simmer on low 20 minutes. Set aside.
