Americana Casserole

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons butter.
  2. Add onion and ground beef; saute until beef is thoroughly browned.
  3. Drain off drippings.
  4. Reserve meat mixture; set aside.
  5. Melt remaining 1/4 cup butter over low heat.
  6. Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
  7. Cook until smooth, stirring constantly.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  10. Boil and stir 1 minute.
  11. Add 1 cup cheese and Worcestershire sauce.
  12. Add frozen vegetables and reserved meat mixture.
  13. Turn into a 1 1/2-quart casserole; bake at 375u0b0 for 25 minutes.
