Sommer'S Ground Turkey Chili
- 1 1/4 lbs ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 yellow bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (16 ounce) can dark red kidney beans
- 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans
- 1 (16 ounce) can black beans
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or slightly less)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
- Brown ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, chopped green, yellow, and red bell peppers over medium-high heat in a Dutch oven or large saucepan. until meat is browned. Drain, if desired and return to pan.
- Add the 3 cans of beans, the can of diced tomatoes, the ketchup, the brown sugar, and all of the spices, plus the water. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium, cook uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
