Continental Cheese Bake
- 1 c. onion, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 8 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
- 2 c. shredded Swiss cheese (8 oz.)
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. mustard (golden)
- 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/4 tsp. dill weed
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 6 slices caraway rye bread, cut in 4 triangles
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Cook onion in butter until tender.
- Spread mixture in baking dish (11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch).
- Top with egg slices; sprinkle with cheese.
- Beat remaining ingredients in bowl. Pour mixture over cheese.
- Overlap bread slices on top. Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
- Serves 6.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight except for addition of bread.
- Add bread and bake 45 minutes.
- Serve with blueberry coffee cake and cut up fruit.
