Grammy Billings Steamed Christmas Pudding With Sherry Sauce

  1. CHRISTMAS PUDDING:
  2. Mix all ingredients for the Christmas Pudding together well.
  3. Put into 1-pound coffee cans or other cans that have been greased.
  4. Put a piece of foil over the top securely.
  5. Set cans in water and steam for 3 hours, watching that the water does not boil away.
  6. Serve with Sherry Sauce on top of each piece.
  7. SHERRY SAUCE:
  8. Beat eggs well.
  9. Put sugar and butter in a bowl and work with fingers.
  10. Add the beaten eggs and then beat again with mixer.
  11. Add the sherry and mix well.
