Broccoli And Noodles
- 1 lb. round steak, thinly sliced
- 1 lb. broccoli
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 lb. wide noodles
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- soy sauce to taste
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- water (as needed)
- Slice broccoli stocks at an angle about 1/4-inch thick. Separate bunches at the end of the stocks. Set aside. Heat oil. Fry crushed garlic. Add sliced steak. Cook, but do not brown, over medium heat. Meat will leave juice in the pan. Add broccoli. Cover and steam until broccoli shrinks a little. Add soy sauce, sugar and salt. Add enough water if needed to make a small amount of sauce in the mixture, about 1/2 cup. Mix cornstarch with a little water. Add to broccoli mixture to thicken. Pour over noodles. Pepper the top. Cover until ready to serve.
