Cocktail Meat Balls With Sauce
- 1 egg
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 12 oz. chili sauce
- 1/4 lemon juice
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 slices stale bread, cubed
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1/2 jar grape jelly
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- Beat egg; add salt, pepper and bread crumbs.
- Add beef and minced onions; mix well.
- Heat chili sauce, jelly, lemon juice and vinegar in a large pot over low heat until jelly melts and mixture is well blended.
- Form meat mixture into small balls; drop into chili mixture.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring to be sure none is stuck on bottom and all are covered.
- Cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Uncover and simmer 10 minutes or until meat balls are done and sauce is thickened.
- If frozen, reheat slowly.
