Savory Spaghetti
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 4 oz. can sliced mushrooms
- 8 oz. spaghetti
- Parmesan cheese, grated
- In a skillet, saute onion, pepper and garlic in olive oil for 5 minutes.
- Add meat and brown; drain.
- Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar and chili powder.
- Simmer 30 minutes. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.
- Serve with hot spaghetti sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Serves 4 to 6.
